When we first saw his photography showcase at an online forum, it was the sheer exuberance and vivid colors that caught our attention. DQ’s ‘Photographer of the Week’, Dileep Narayanan was destined to be a designer cum photographer.
Here’s is what Dileep has to say about his journey, his aims and his photography.
“My parents wanted me to be in a government job but thankfully never forced me to do so. I went on to complete my studies in electrical engineering diploma, ITI in instrument mechanics and gained some computer hardware knowledge.
As destiny would have it, I wanted to work in the advertisement field. I started my carrier as a layout artist and worked in Kerala for nearly 3 years and later worked in Dubai as a creative director in an advertising company.
I returned back to Kerala for good and started working as a photographer and designer with few firms in Kerala and abroad. Most of my clicks are for advertising, some are portfolios and some are wedding photography projects.
I am self taught, thanks to Google and I learned photography with film cameras when I was in school. My first professional camera was Electro 35.
Since I have learned online with continuous practice, my advice to beginners if they have any doubt just google it 😉 I am a canon lover, but nowadays using Nikon cameras and busy with shoots of few documentaries to promote Hindu ritual art form called ” theyyam “.
